The EOF created the ESOP Employee Accelerator for non-managerial staff and new employee owners. This one-day, interactive program blends classwork and small group discussions to learn about core business concepts and ESOP principles in a dynamic, engaging format. Through the Accelerator’s flagship business simulation, participants collaborate on key business challenges, test their employee‑ownership knowledge, and gain insight into how their decisions affect coworkers and shape company performance across the organization. Participants learn how their daily actions influence company performance and long-term value.

This newly refreshed, annual two-week, intensive program is designed exclusively for top executives of ESOP companies in conjunction with the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. The program offers unique content structured specifically to address the challenges faced by key leaders of employee-owned businesses, including presidents and CEOs, CFOs, and others. Hundreds of top executives at employee-owned companies have used this valuable training in the past as part of their leadership development and succession planning.  Now a revamped program designed in partnership with the Darden School expands to help transform ESOP executive leadership.   

In addition to specialized curriculum, program alumni network with members of their class, as well as members of prior and later classes, creating a one-of-a-kind resource for discussion, brainstorming, and idea sharing.

ESOPATHON is a month-long, activity-based, fundraising event that allows employee owners to set up their own chartible fundraising webpage, participate in teams together (like their own ESOP company team), all while celebrating Employee Ownership Month.

When you participate in ESOPATHON, you pick your activity and recuit colleagues, friends, and others to support your effort. Do you swim? Great! Get colleagues to donate a dollar for every lap in October! Are you a runner? Ask your friends to donate funds per mile run. How about reading books? Absolutely. So long as your activity can be measured by time, distance, or units you can raise funds toward that goal. Join a company team and maximixe your contribution!
