| Employee ownership includes a diverse mixture
of companies -- multi-nationals, small, one location specialty companies, publicly-traded,
and closely-held. An issue facing all employee-owned companies is how to enable management
teams to function optimally in a sophisticated and rapidly changing business environment. The Foundation will fund educational programs that improve business skills,
cultivate a more efficient workforce, and ensure that the complex operational requirements
of an employee ownership structure are met. This may include, but is not limited to, the
following types of programs:
- Specialty training for line and management personnel through
retreats, seminars and workshops, including the Charles
Edmunson Scholarship.
- Development of specific course curricula, in cooperation
with educational institutions, focusing on employee ownership and management.
- Outreach efforts through which successful employee-owned
firms meet periodically with management, line or technical employees from less-experienced
ownership firms.
